The Melbourne Renegades are mourning the loss of Shane Warne, a legend of Australian and Victorian cricket.
Among many achievements in the game, Warne was a key figure in building the reputation of the Big Bash League through his involvement with cross-town rivals, the Melbourne Stars.
Warne’s deep involvement across cricket includes connections with members of the Renegades’ playing group and coaching staff.
Melbourne Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said:
“Our thoughts are with Shane’s family, friends and the wider cricket community at this sad time.”
“Shane had a profound impact on so many people across his lifetime and helped people fall in love with cricket and the Big Bash. We try to inspire people to play and experience cricket, which is something Shane did every day and will continue to do with the legacy he leaves.”
