The Role

We are currently seeking to appoint a full time Women’s Senior Coaching Assistant – Batting to ensure that the Victorian Women’s State Squad and Female Emerging Player Performance squads receive the best strategic, technical and match day support regarding their batting performance and achieve an optimum level of performance and professionalism. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of Australia’s best female cricketers.  

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$85,000 + super.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • In conjunction with the State Women’s Head Coach:
    – Lead the Women’s State, individual and team batting program in conjunction with Head Coach
    – Responsible for the training and coaching requirements of the State batting group
    – Responsible for skill analysis of individuals and teams including the use of data and footage
    – Responsible for implementing individual skill development strategies
    – Provide individual coaching sessions in line with athlete IPP
    – In conjunction with State coaching staff, be responsible for visual and verbal feedback to players
    – Attend matches and, when required, travel with various designated teams
    – Assist with performance review of individual players at the end of each training phase for distribution amongst State HP Coaching staff
  • In conjunction with the Head of Female Cricket, State Senior coaching staff and Talent Development Manager – Female:
    – Provide support for Winter training programs
    – Provide support and attend as requested Emerging Player games and training sessions
    – Assist with the development and implementation of skills development strategies for progression to WNCL
    – Assist with the development and implementation of T20 skills development strategies for progression to WBBL
    – Assist with EPP coach development, mentoring and alignment with senior program
    – Assist with performance review of individual players at the end of each training phase for distribution amongst Victorian Women’s Squad Coaching staff
  • In conjunction with Talent Development Manager – Female, assist in the creation and delivery of a Premier Club Coaching Program
  • Assist the Talent Development Specialist – Female, as required, at Level 2 courses which includes the deliver of presentations on specialist skills areas

About You

The successful candidate will have experience coaching professional cricketers, with an extensive understanding of national level cricket and knowledge of the Australian cricket coaching philosophy. Ultimately they will have the ability to create and manage elite training programs and demonstrate a genuine passion to develop successful female athletes that leads to team success.

To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:

  • Level 3 Cricket Australia Coaching Accreditation or equivalent internationally recognised certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience at an elite level
  • A strong understanding of cricket at state and national level
  • Proven ability to formulate and manage training programs and squad preparation
  • Established strong people management skills
  • Strong results orientation with the proven ability to plan strategically, delivering results within agreed timeframes
  • First-class cricket experience preferred but not essential
  • Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
