New Zealand Cricket’s ‘Pathway to Performance’ women in coaching programme has been instrumental in providing development and learning opportunities to women coaches coaching at the community level with aspirations to develop and move into performance coaching roles.
The 10-month programme will be run for a third time in 2024/25, offering coaches valuable learnings through inviting guest speakers, an in-person residential, and practical coaching opportunities.
The programme also offers valuable mentorship, coach observation, and feedback from NZC’s Coach Development team to gauge how coaches operate in the field.
Moreover, the programme aims to link these coaches with their local Pathway Manager and find opportunities to coach performance sides at their Major Association.
Since NZC’s inaugural Pathway to Performance programme in the 2022/23 season, 18 coaches have graduated from the programme, many of whom are now coaching within performance environments within Major & District Associations.
