Cricket Namibia is the custodian of all cricket structures and programs in Namibia. Cricket Namibia will advertise the position of Specialist – National Biokineticist & HP Facility Manager. Applications are now open to suitable qualified and experienced candidates.

JOB OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be the Head of the Conditioning and Rehabilitation Program and High Performance Gym for all national programs.

JOB SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be wide-ranging and broad and in line with the Cricket Namibia’s Strategic Plan for player development. These include activities relating to player conditioning and rehabilitation while heading the medical team and High Performance Gym. Key responsibilities include but is not limited to:
1) Biokineticist for the National Men’s, Women’s and High Performance players.
2) Oversee the conditioning and recovery programs of all identified players.
3) Head of High Performance Gym and training Facility.
4) Oversee internship program.
5) Oversee and coordinate the medical team appointed by Cricket Namibia.
6) Ensure all players are performance ready.
7) Assist with coaching requirements to the National Teams.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with international cricket teams.
  • Internationally qualified Biokeneticist.
  • Level III Coaching Qualification.
  • Experience of coaching at senior international level.
  • Experience in running a High Performance Practise or Gym.
  • Experience in working with other medical staff in a professional team environment.
  • Candidate must be willing to be based in Windhoek.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The main areas of responsibility under the job specifications are classified below:

1) Biokineticist for the National Men’s, Women’s and High Performance players.

  • Responsible for all conditioning and recovery requirements of national players.

2) Oversee the conditioning and recovery programs of all identified players.

  • Able to coordinate and monitor the conditioning and recovery of all players and the complete system of personnel.

3) Head of High Performance Gym and training Facility.

  • Head of all equipment, training and optimization of the entire High Performance Gym facility.
  • Coordinate staff responsible for any form of training in the facility.

4) Oversee internship program.

  • Assist with training, guidance and mentorship of Namibian students in relevant field of study.

5) Oversee and coordinate the medical team appointed by Cricket Namibia.

  • Coordinate all medical support staff involved in the training, conditioning and recovery of national players.
  • Ensure players return to play within ideal time and on required levels.
  • Oversee the functionality of the medical support staff.

6) Ensure all players are performance ready.

  • Provide elite level of conditioning and rehabilitation to ensure all players are performance ready.

7) Assist with coaching requirements to the National Teams.

  • To be able to assist the coaching staff with coaching sessions of players as required.

BASIC SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The basic skills and relevant experience required for the position:

• Good communication skills on written and verbal mediums.

• Pro-active planning.

• Be able to work with a team of professionals and in an office environment.

• Computer literate and efficient on Excell.

• Compilation of documents for distribution.
