PCA members are set to benefit from expert tax and accountancy services thanks to a new partnership announced today, Thursday 1 August, with Clay GBP.

Current and former men’s and women’s players will be able to access Clay GBP’s services, who specialise in providing accounting, tax and business advice.

As part of the new collaboration, the firm will be ensuring that players are given sound tax advice on their earnings in and around the game.

Clay will be offering players informal advice sessions on self-assessment and tax reporting, as well as setting up limited companies for additional earnings.

Working alongside the PCA’s team of Personal Development Managers, Clay and the PDMs will facilitate and run educational sessions to players, making sure that they are being helped with their tax and accountancy queries.

Clay GBP will become the Tax / Accountancy Education Partner of the PCA, supporting players’ tax and accounting affairs.

Clay’s talented team work with a large variety of clients across multiple industries. With headquarters in London and secondary offices in the West Midlands, their trusted team are on hand to advise at any time.

PCA Commercial Director, Rob Smyth, said: “I’m delighted to partner with Clay GBP, this will enable us to ensure sound tax and accounting advice is delivered to our members.

“Given the diverse contractual situations of members, careers have never been as complex, with earning opportunities at home and around the world, meaning sound advice in this space is so vital.

“The PCA is committed to educating and supporting our members and this partnership with Clay will help support their tax and accountancy educational needs.”

Clay GBP Partner, Jasdeep Sami, said: “After being approached by the PCA, we were excited to learn that there is such a great demand from players to learn and understand more about their own personal tax affairs. Taxation is becoming increasingly more complex, as new rules are introduced, and existing rules are changed and updated. Therefore, it is as important as ever for individuals to have the knowledge to be able to navigate through the tax landscape and make more informed decisions.

“Each players’ circumstances are unique, whether they are currently playing, retired or in the process of starting their career. Here at Clay GBP we have a collaborative approach with clients, where we can work with you to find solutions to fit your own personal circumstances – leaving you to get on with what you do best.

“We are delighted to have this opportunity to work alongside the PCA and are very eager to get started!”
