Queensland Cricket has combined forces for the first time with an iconic cricket business to showcase its wide-ranging commitment to developing the players of the future.

Leading cricket and associated sporting goods retailer Greg Chappell Cricket Centre will become an official partner of Queensland Cricket and Brisbane Heat for the next two years, as well as taking on sponsorship of the State’s youth development programs.

The GCCC logo will be carried on the sleeves of the Queensland Bulls and Queensland Fire maroon playing apparel during the One Day Cup and Women’s National Cricket League competitions.

The Queensland Under-17 and Under-19 male and Under-16 and Under-19 female teams will also carry the GCCC branding on the front of their playing shirts during the National championships this season.

Additionally, the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre will support the KFC Queensland Premier Cricket competition, along with the Queensland Cricket Foundation’s purpose to make cricket more accessible by providing store vouchers to community clubs and participants.

CEO Terry Svenson welcomed the Greg Chappell Cricket Centre as the latest sponsorship partner to join with Queensland Cricket.

“There is some great synergy to partner with a business that was started in 1973 in Albion and expanded in 1977 when Queensland’s captain at the time, Greg Chappell, joined with them to become synonymous with the business,” he said.

“As our near Albion neighbours, we have traditionally had a close association with Greg Chappell Cricket Centre, but it is very exciting to be able to formalise and extend our relationship in this manner.”

““Our State squads and development players, and the wider cricket community, will benefit from this relationship, as will their support of the Queensland Cricket Foundation through fund-raising and donations,” Svenson said.

Greg Chappell Cricket Centre Managing Director Greg Tibbits said:

“Greg Chappell Cricket Centre has a long-standing history with Queensland Cricket dating back many decades, from the connection with Greg Chappell as a player, through to previous GCCC Directors being State selectors and the many other Queensland players that have kitted themselves out at the store.

“It is with great pleasure that this season that relationship is formalised. We look forward too many more years working with Queensland Cricket especially in developing players for the future to keep our great game at the forefront of sport in Australia.”

Greg Chappell Cricket Centre joins principal partner Queensland Country Bank and Poolwerx as new sponsors for the 2024-25 summer, with KFC also renewing for a further two years.
