The Melbourne Stars will return to the MCG for the first time on January 15 following the KFC Big Bash League’s release of the second half of the BBL|10 fixture today.

Victoria’s ongoing easing of major restrictions and the excellent daily case figures have allowed the league to schedule matches in Melbourne.

The updated fixture will see the Stars play four matches at the MCG in the second half of January including the all-important Melbourne derby against the Renegades on January 17.

The news will be very welcome for Stars members and fans who will get to see their heroes in action this summer.

The Melbourne Stars and the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) will advise crowd details and stadium capacity in due course.

Melbourne Stars General Manager Nick Cummins said the news was a fantastic boost for the club and for fans across Victoria.

“We’re delighted we’ll be able to welcome our members and fans back to the MCG this summer – something that only a few months ago we didn’t think would be possible this season,” Cummins said.

“Our first priority is always the health and safety of our fans. We’ll be working closely with the MCC and the League to ensure you can come to the MCG this summer and be assured of a fantastic match experience for families, supported by all the necessary protocols.”

“With reduced capacity expected at our games I’d encourage members to renew early and fans to sign up to ensure they’ve got the best possible opportunity to attend our matches this summer,” Cummins said.

Match Access Memberships will go on sale to the public on Monday 14 December, providing fans with the best chance to secure ticketing for these MCG fixtures.

The Melbourne Stars begin their KFC BBL season on December 11 at Manuka Oval in Canberra against the Brisbane Heat.
