Cricket Tasmania welcomes Cricket Australia’s announcement today that an additional two matches of KFC BBL|10 will be played at Blundstone Arena in Hobart.

Ten matches of this season’s competition will be played in Hobart and Launceston, of which the Hobart Hurricanes will play six.

The Hobart Hurricanes will play the Melbourne Stars on both 2 and 4 January – a home match on the 2nd and an away match on the 4th.

Cricket Tasmania Chief Executive Dominic Baker said the additional matches were a great result for cricket members, fans and all Tasmanians.

“This is huge news for Hurricanes members and fans”, said Baker. “We had already locked in more Big Bash home and away content than ever before, and these matches against the Stars give Tasmanians more to be excited about in the New Year.”

“We all need a refreshing start to 2021, and I can’t think of a better way than some Twenty20 cricket with the family here at Bellerive.”

Both matches will be broadcast live on Fox.

Members’ ticket pre-sale begins tomorrow, 24 November, with public ticket sale beginning on 27 November.
