Emirates Cricket Board has today announced the wider training squad in preparation of their Bilateral ODI series with Ireland, which will be played early January (2021) in the UAE.
“We are very pleased to announce UAE Cricket’s wider (training) squad ahead of our series against Ireland early in the New Year.” commented Mubashshir Usmani, Emirates Cricket General Secretary. “We have successfully provided Domestic tournaments for our players to continue playing competitive matches as well as opportunities to be exposed to experts in our game to hone their skills, however we are cognisant that to continue our upward trajectory on the ICC rankings, and our ICC Membership standing, it is through competing at the International level that will assist in achieving our goals.” “We look forward to finalizing and announcing the UAE’s final tour squad.” added Usmani.
Consisting of four ODI matches, the series will start on Friday January 8th, and continue Sunday January 10th, Tuesday January 12th with the last match scheduled Thursday January 14th (2021). All matches will be played in Abu Dhabi (UAE) and will be live streamed by joint partner ITW Consulting.
