Thunder’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup players strongly represented in NSW Women’s Indigenous team

Five players who represented the Sydney Thunder Women’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team in early November have been selected in NSW Women’s Indigenous team to play in Bowral on 16 January subject to health advice regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

Captain Julie Muir, Dimity Parton, Naomi Woods, Callee Black and Amali McNeil have all been selected for the state’s women’s Indigenous team to compete in a T20 Women’s Tri-Series at Bradman Oval, involving NSW Country Bush Breakers and an SCG XI.

Allrounder Dharmini Chauhan, who had previously represented Thunder at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup, has also been selected. Sara Darney was a late withdrawal.

The tournament is an important opportunity for the Cricket NSW Women’s Indigenous and Country teams, who are unable to represent their culture and region at the respective National Championships this season due to the pandemic.
