The Strikers’ final three regular season games will now be held in South Australia instead of Victoria and NSW, with a neutral fixture featuring the Sixers and Thunder also moved to Adelaide.
The decision has been made in line with Cricket Australia’s ongoing commitment to giving all formats and competitions the best chance of completing a full season.
The affected matches are:
- 21 January, Adelaide Strikers v Brisbane Heat, now to be played at Adelaide Oval, 6:45pm ACDT
- 22 January: Sydney Sixers v Sydney Thunder, now to be played at Adelaide Oval, 6:45pm ACDT
- 24 January: Sydney Thunder v Adelaide Strikers, now to be played at Adelaide Oval,3:35pm ACDT
- 25 January: Adelaide Strikers v Sydney Thunder, now to be played at Adelaide Oval, 6:45pm ACDT
Ticket information for all rescheduled matches will be communicated in due course.
SACA CEO Keith Bradshaw said:
“While it is of course disappointing that the BBL|10 schedule has been affected by this global pandemic, we are always prepared to assist in any way possible, and we know we can put on a wonderful, family-friendly experience for all relocated fixtures.
“Our fans support the Strikers whenever and wherever we play, and we look forward to giving our Members and supporters additional chances to witness top quality cricket at our stunning home venue.”
Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s Head of Big Bash Leagues, said:
“The decision to move the remaining five matches from Sydney, while unfortunate, was necessary to ensure the completion of the season in light of the ongoing public health situation and related state border closures.
“We’d also like to take the opportunity again to recognise the players, staff and match officials who have shown incredible resilience and flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing landscape and successfully implemented bio secure hubs in each market, which have allowed us to keep the BBL moving.”
