Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell has finished in the top four in the BBL Player of the Year award conducted by Cricket Australia
Voted for by the on-field umpires, Maxwell finished with 18 votes for the season after scoring 379 runs, averaging 31.58. He also took 7 wickets during the tournament.
Sydney Sixers opening batsman Josh Phillipe won the award polling 22 votes with the Thunder’s Alex Hales (20) and Perth’s Jhye Richardson (19) finishing second and third. In total, nine Melbourne Stars players polled votes in the award.
Spinner Adam Zampa finished with 12 votes while Marcus Stoinis and Nick Larkin tied on 11 votes.
