Cricket Namibia: Over 50’s Easter Festival

Cricket Namibia is excited to host the first-ever International home series for Over 50’s cricketers in Namibia. The Castle Lite Over 50’s Easter Festival willl be massive exposure and experience for the home team as the Namibian Invitational team will face the Zimbabwe Over 50 team.

The Namibian Invitational team has been training for a few months where some players have been playing club cricket in preparation. Francois Erasmus, Namibian Team Vice Captain says that they want to enjoy the opportunity to play against a world-class outfit. “Zimbabwe is a Full Member of the ICC and quite a few of the visitors played Test and ODI cricket for Zimbabwe during their playing careers. The series will test the ability and competitiveness of the Namibian boys.”

“Zimbabwe will be an extremely tough opponent but we are confident that we could do well! We are targeting the T20 fixtures for an upset. The longer format will be tougher but we hope to compete and cause an upset”, added Erasmus.

We are looking forward to host our African neighbor Zimbabwe. They have a rich cricket playing heritage and culture and we are proud to host them with the blessing of our Sports Council, Cricket Namibia and our sponsors Castle Lite and FNB Namibia.
