Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

The President of Mpumalanga Cricket would like to make the following statement on behalf of The Board of Directors of Mpumalanga Cricket Union (MCU) and all its affiliates.

MCU would like to publicly show its support to the Interim Board of Cricket South Africa (CSA) in their quest for changes to governance recommendations at CSA.

We are aware of the requirements as set out by the Nicholson Report and fully support them. MCU is committed to the shareholders, sponsors, players and fans and in order to ensure that cricket remains as powerful and professional as it has always been with solid corporate governance as an essential part of it.

We hope that an amicable resolve is still able to be achieved through a mediator involving all stakeholders.
