Hashan Tillakaratne – Head Coach of the National Women’s Team

Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce the appointment of Mr. Hashan Tillakaratne as the Head Coach of the National Women’s Team.

The appointment came into effect from 1st June 2021.

Tillakaratne’s latest assignment comes as part of the ongoing coach restructuring program at the High-Performance Center of the SLC.

A member of the 1996 World Cup-winning team, Tillakaratne has held several coaching positions before his latest elevation.

Among his previous roles ranks working as the Head Coach of the Sri Lanka U19 team and the Batting Coach of the Sri Lanka Emerging Team.

He was also the Head Coach of the Kandy Tuskers, a franchise of the Lanka Premier League, during its inaugural edition.

National Team gets a ‘Lead Physiotherapist’ 

Sri Lanka Cricket appointed Mr. Brett Harrop as the Lead Physiotherapist of the National Team. 

His appointment for a two-year period came into effect from 21st May 2021. 

Before joining Sri Lanka Cricket, Brett has been working as the Sports Physiotherapist for New Zealand Cricket. He has also worked as the High-Performance Rehabilitation Manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. 

Brett, a former Australian First-Class Cricketer, has worked as the Head Physiotherapist of the Kings XI Punjab, a franchise of the Indian Premier League, and held the same position at the Lahore Qalandars of the Pakistan Super League.

He has obtained a Master of Exercise Science from the Edith Cowan University, of Australia and a Master of Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne, Australia, among many of his qualifications.

He has already arrived in Sri Lanka and is undergoing the mandatory quarantine period before joining the National team for the tour of England, which will be his first assignment.
