Principal Partner MARS has advised the Melbourne Renegades it will conclude its partnership with the club.

It brings to an end one of the Big Bash League’s most successful club partnerships.

MARS became Principal Partner of the Renegades on the eve of the BBL|06 season with its logo featuring prominently across the BBL playing jersey and later the WBBL playing jersey.

Throughout the four-year partnership, fan research showed MARS became the most recognised club partner in the Big Bash as the club won its first BBL title and reached the WBBL finals in consecutive seasons.

“We are enormously proud of the strong partnership that we have built with the Renegades BBL over the past four years, and the Renegades WBBL since 2018, as the leagues have grown and cemented their place in the Australian sporting calendar,” Kaitlin Williams, Senior Brand Manager of Mars said.

“We believe now is the right time to shift the focus of our MARS® brand to connect with new audiences. We wish the Renegades all the best in their next season and we look forward to continuing to watch both teams succeed in the leagues.”

Melbourne Renegades General Manager of BBL, Commercial and Marketing Nick Cummins thanked MARS for its contribution to the club.

“We’re proud of the fantastic partnership we’ve developed with MARS over the last four years.  It has been enjoyed by our players, members and fans, with the BBL title success and the continued growth of our WBBL program key highlights,” Cummins said.

“While we’re naturally disappointed to see this partnership come to a close, we understand that any partnership of this scale will always evolve.  We’d like to wish MARS success in their new direction.

“We’re in the process of securing a new Principal Partner and further announcements will be made when appropriate to do so.”
