Uniform and equipment donated to help development of young cricketers in Sierra Leone
Sydney Thunder has continued its support of cricket in Sierra Leone thanks to generous donations from cricket clubs across the Thunder Nation.
The Kent Cricket Club received equipment and uniform to help inspire girls and boys to play and love cricket.
Thunder has been supporting the Kent CC for the past two years and has also donated equipment to the Sierra Leone National Cricket Team.
Support from the Thunder Nation has enabled the Kent CC to further engage young people in community-based activities and remove barriers to participation in cricket.
“We have treasured the donations from Sydney Thunder over the years and we will continue to treasure them, as it has made boys, girls, men and women unleash their potential in the game,” said Ibrahim Sheik Kamara, Kent CC Men’s Team Captain.
“There have been massive impact and it has as well been a contributing factor for the development of the sport not only for Kent Cricket Club but the Sierra Leone cricket at large.
“The equipment donated have not only been limited to Kent Cricket Club, but they are as well used for grassroots coaching purpose in communities, as well as taking the sport to schools by not only coaching but donating some of this equipment to them.”
If your cricket club has excess equipment and would like to support the development of cricket globally, please contact Sydney Thunder.
