Cricket West Indies (CWI) governs cricket across the West Indies, a confederation of Caribbean countries. Originally established as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control in the 1920s, it became the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996 and was rebranded as Cricket West Indies in May 2017 as part of a restructuring effort.

Hayley Matthews struck her second ODI century, three years after her maiden one against South Africa in her native Barbados. This CG Insurance ODI series against Pakistan Women proved just the boost Matthews needed to get back into the groove of things.

Not only was she outstanding with the bat but she gave captain Stafanie Taylor an option with her right-arm offspin, something that the Pakistan batters struggled to pick up for most of the series. Matthews recapped her performance to CWI Media at the end of the series,

“I’m pretty happy, obviously I had a lot of goals coming into this series to be able to contribute to the team wins and I feel like I was able to do that to a certain extent… We’ve seen a lot of strides forward in these five ODIs and just looking forward to improving even more.”

Matthews was pleased overall with the team’s performance, winning both the CG Insurance T20s and ODIs, 3-0 and 3-2 respectively.

Next up for Matthews will be a stint in the ECB’s competition The Hundred, where she’ll play for Welsh Fire. She’s hoping to transfer her consistent form against her West Indies teammates Stafanie Taylor who’s playing for Southern Brave and Deandra Dottin for London Spirit.
