An off-season of fresh faces continues with Daniel Archer joining Auckland Cricket as the new Director of Performance and Talent. Archer will officially start on September 13.

Archer will take on a crucial role in Auckland Cricket’s High-Performance structure, driving the necessary change and development to create and foster success.

Chief Executive Iain Laxon said Archer brings strategic experience and a track record of creating successful Talent Identification and Development systems.

“We are delighted to have someone of Daniel’s quality and calibre join us to lead our High-Performance environment.”

Archer comes with experience and success in building and leading a High-Performance structure, overseeing the Northern Districts’ programme for the past three years.

“Daniel has a fantastic knowledge of the cricket environment in New Zealand and proven leadership qualities that will help us develop exceptional systems and people within our HP system.

“Auckland Cricket is committed to providing an outstanding High-Performance environment and Daniel will be at the forefront of building that.”

Archer is excited by the opportunity to join Auckland Cricket.

“Whilst there is work to be done and some immediate challenges to navigate, I cannot wait to start collaborating and building on the many positives at Auckland Cricket to create a strong and aligned approach to our Performance and Talent programmes.

“The scope of the opportunity presented at Auckland Cricket is what truly excites me; about what the future can look like and the role I can play in that.

“I would also like to acknowledge all involved at Northern Districts Cricket for the amazing three years I have experienced working as the GM Performance and Talent across the organisation.

“The lessons learnt from the people and the environment itself during this time I feel provide a great platform to launch into the new role with Auckland Cricket.”

Laxon would like to acknowledge Chris Mundell for his contribution to Auckland Cricket, firstly with his role as Coach Development Manager and more recently as High-Performance Manager.
