Senior Legal Counsel, Media Rights, Broadcasting & Digital

Following an internal promotion, a vacancy has arisen for a driven Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal and Media Rights & Broadcast teams. We’re looking for a senior level lawyer who has a media/commercial background and strong inter-personal skills.
Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary you’ll be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating major Australian and International media rights agreements, supporting the development and execution of a global media rights strategy and providing legal advice to the Media Rights, Broadcasting and Digital teams within the business. You will use your excellent communication skills to partner with the organisation to drive process improvement and commercial solutions.

About The Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing proactive and practical legal advice to the Media Rights, Broadcast and Digital teams;
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing major media rights and associated agreements;
- Ensuring compliance with legal obligations;
- Provision of regulatory advice and management of industry regulatory broadcast and media rights issues; and
- Driving process improvement.
You’ll Have
About you
- A Bachelor of Laws / Juris Doctor and practising certificate
- A minimum of 10 years’ practising experience in a law firm or in-house
- Experience working in Media and Broadcast
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team
- Excellent collaboration and strong inter-personal skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sharp business acumen and experience in balancing legal and commercial outcomes
- Ability to adapt and respond to challenges in a fast-paced environment
