DUBLIN – Cricket Ireland today confirmed through the Sunday Independent that the Ireland Women’s senior squad will travel to Thailand to play a 50-over quadrangular series in April.
The tournament with feature hosts Thailand, Zimbabwe and Netherlands, and will see Ireland play six 50-over matches between 3 and 11 April, as part of its preparation for the ICC World Cup Qualifier tournament in July (in Sri Lanka).
Richard Holdsworth, Performance Director for Cricket Ireland, said:
“While this is set to be a fantastic set of matches for the women’s side, we have sought the latest advice from Government and Sports authorities regarding travelling to Thailand given its proximity to countries affected by the Corona Virus. We will continue to monitor the situation over coming weeks.”
The squad will be announced this week.
