Hosts India to kickstart their campaign against Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the fixtures for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.
The tournament, which will be hosted by the BCCI in Oman and the United Arab Emirates, will commence on October 17 in Oman and the Final will be played on November 14, with November 15 being a reserve day in Dubai.
Former champions India, who are placed in Group 2, will kickstart their T20 World Cup campaign on October 24 in Dubai when they take on Pakistan. India will then face New Zealand on October 31. The team will then play their third match on November 3 against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi.
India will return to Dubai for their last two games of the Super 12 stage where they will square off against the winners of the Group B – which consists of Bangladesh, Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Oman – and the runners-up from Group A – which includes Sri Lanka, Ireland, the Netherlands and Namibia – of Round 1 on November 5 and November 8 respectively.
