Cricket Australia (CA) is one of the Nation’s premier sporting bodies and provides an exciting and dynamic environment within the sports and entertainment industry. CA is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a national level, ultimately with a responsibility for the national cricket teams and professional cricket competitions played in Australia.

An opportunity exists for two experienced and motivated Selectors to join our team to work with other members of the Umpire Selection Panel to select umpires to the CA umpire panels and CA competitions.

You Will

  • Employ sound processes and practices to ensure the Umpire Selection Panel delivers the fair and meritorious selection and appointment of umpires to CA umpire panels and CA competitions
  • Assist with the appointment of umpires to Cricket Australia competition matches
  • Gather information on umpire performances to enable considered and informed decisions when selecting for panels and competitions
  • View CA competition matches – including international, domestic, and pathway events – and produce sound selection reports
  • Develop and maintain short-term contingency and longer-term succession plans for all CA umpire panels
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders to ensure a clear, consultative, and transparent approach to selection
  • Utilise performance data and other information sources to support effective selection decisions and drive continuous improvement of the selection function

  • Demonstrated management and leadership capability
  • Astute judgment, decision making ability, and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to source, interpret and apply performance data and information
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Sound IT skills
