Unfortunately, the first match of the Netherlands in the group stage against Ireland was lost without a chance. National coach Ryan Campbell: “Obviously the game against Ireland was very disappointing, starting with Ben Cooper’s run out. We made some batting errors, but what killed us was this guy who took four wickets in a row.”
“We created chances with our attack, but 106 was never enough to defend. The highlight of the day was of course Max O’Dowd who showed his quality on the world stage.”
“Selecting the players was extremely difficult, but we felt we had picked the best eleven for the circumstances. Of course, when you lose that big, it’s easy to hit the panic button and make some changes, but we’ll take a deep breath and consider our best line-up against Namibia.”
The Netherlands will play against Namibia on October 20 at noon Dutch time.
