Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

ADRIAN Birrell, The Rocks coach, expressed his delight with the acquisition of Onke Nyaku and Jurie Snyman for the Mzansi Super League.

The services of the players were secured following the Mzansi Super League draft on Friday. The draft was held in accordance with Cricket South Africa’s regulations.

Each of the eight Division One teams participating in the Mzansi Super League is required to sign two Division Two players for the series which starts during February next year.

Birrell regards both Onke Nyaku and Jurie Snyman as two of the country’s most talented all-rounders.

“Both players are good bowlers and useful batsmen in this format. Added to this Snyman is a left-handed batsman. I’m certainly delighted. The draw went according to our plans,” said Birrell.

Onke Nyaku played for the South Western Districts in the recently completed Provincial T20 Knockout Challenge and took 4 wickets in three-inning with his medium pace deliveries.

Jurie Snyman did duty for Easterns in the series and excelled with both bat and ball. He scored 88 runs while taking 5 wickets with his off-break deliveries.
