Titans Cricket are delighted with the news that veteran coach Pierre Cronje has been appointed as a Cricket South Africa Talent Acceleration Program (TAP) Lead.
This will see Cronje scouting the most promising talent in the Tshwane and Johannesburg East Region for Cricket South Africa, and ensuring that the game continues to grow in these communities.
“We are delighted for Pieter. This is reward and recognition for two decades of incredible dedication and love for the growth of the game,” Cricket Services Manager Charlotte Serwadi said.
Cronje was holding the title of Chairman of the Titans Cricket High School Committee, and he has also worn numerous hats, mentoring coaches, being part of several age group selection panels, and generally sharing his knowledge and experience freely to all who ask.
“He is a natural fit in any organisation, because his passion and his enthusiasm for the growth of the game is infectious. We need leaders like him in our cricketing structures,” Serwadi added.
Cronje has been lauded for years by all who have worked with him in the Titans pipeline, and his ascension to the national programme is a natural progression.
“We know that he will keep doing what he has done so well for so many years, and he and his family can be extremely proud if the service that he has given the game. Long may it continue,” Serwadi said.
