Imad Wasim, the captain of the most followed franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings has admitted that they lost the winning momentum but the teams cannot write off Kings so early.
All-rounder accepted that they made few mistakes in the last match against Lahore Qalandars but the credit must be given to Ben Dunk who played an outclass inning.
“We have our strategy ready for tomorrow’s clash and we will execute the given plan, me along with all the players are excited as we are playing in front of our home crowd, we made few mistakes but you can’t write off Karachi Kings so early,” Imad said in a presser at National Stadium.
“We lost the last match and have rectified our previous mistakes but you have to give credit to Dunk, who played extraordinary as there are fewer innings like these,” he added.
Imad identified that all the teams are in the contention of qualifying and it can’t be predicted that who will be on the first or second spot of the points table.
“Looking at the points table, you can’t estimate who will be the second team and it is also not obvious that Multan will still remain at the top, it’s hard to say on this,” he maintained.
Imad again termed explosive left-handed batsman Sharjeel Khan as his match-winner and there’s no problem whether he score big or not.
“We witnessed a quickfire 40 form him (Sharjeel) against Islamabad United where the momentum was shifted completely towards us, he is still my match-winner and there’s no doubt on this,” he added.
It must be noted that Kings will play their eighth match of the ongoing PSL 5 edition tomorrow against Qalandars at National Stadium in Karachi.
