Scotland will host Nepal, Namibia, USA and UAE this Summer as the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 resumes after two years of postponed fixtures.

The men’s national team will head off to Dubai later this month for Series 11 versus PNG and Oman. This was to be a home series for PNG, however due to travel restrictions they have chosen to host the matches in the UAE.

Shane Burger’s side will then head to the USA in June for series 12 with four ODI’s planned versus USA and UAE. Scotland will then host Series 14 and Series 15 at home with Nepal and Namibia visiting in July, followed by USA and UAE in August.

Scotland currently lie 2nd in the league behind Oman, however with eight games in hand they will be aiming for top spot following the completion of this seasons matches. The top three teams in the league will advance to the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament.

Following today’s ICC announcement, Scotland men’s captain Kyle Coetzer said “After a break since the T20 World Cup, we look forward to getting stuck into 50 over cricket in our CWCL2 series vs Oman & PNG. We have played both sides recently and know that we can’t underestimate either of these opponents.

“Both are very dangerous on their day so we must be disciplined to make sure we can take as many points away from the series as possible.

“Every point will count as the tournament progresses into its latter stages to achieve a spot in the World Cup qualifier next year. The players have been working hard indoor as a group to take any learnings they can from our last tour in Oman & Dubai. I know they can’t wait to get back outside and on to the field to put in winning performances for their country.”

Full details on dates and venues will be announced in the coming weeks.
