South Australia’s match scheduled to begin on Tuesday at Hurstville Oval has been abandoned as a result of the ongoing weather emergency that continues to affect New South Wales.

The match against the NSW Breakers was unable to be relocated and will instead be officially abandoned.

SA Scorpions Head Coach Luke Williams said:

“First and foremost, our thoughts remain with everyone in NSW and QLD currently affected by the ongoing weather crisis. The efforts of communities in the affected areas to pull together and remain positive is nothing short of inspirational.

“We are extremely thankful to all involved at Cricket NSW and Cricket Australia for their work across the weekend to source an alternate venue in these difficult circumstances.

“We now turn our attention to Friday’s match and best preparing to take the field then.”

The Scorpions next match is scheduled for Friday March 11, against Tasmania at the same venue.

SA Scorpions remaining WNCL fixture:

March 11: South Australia v Tasmania, Hurstville Oval

March 15: South Australia v ACT Meteors, EPC Solar Park

March 18: South Australia v ACT Meteors, EPC Solar Park

March 21: South Australia v Victoria, Junction Oval
