NSW leg spinner Tanveer Sangha has this morning been ruled out of the Blues’ Marsh Sheffield Shield clash with Western Australia at Bankstown Oval.

Sangha suffered a mild concussion when fielding late in the afternoon on Day 1 of play yesterday and exhibited mild concussion symptoms.

As per the applicable ICC and CA Playing Conditions, a Concussion Substitute has been used by NSW, with Randwick Petersham’s Riley Ayre replacing Sangha for the remainder of the fixture.

Ayre, 25, bowls left arm orthodox spin and will make his first class debut and wear NSW Blues cap #759.

Sangha will undergo further testing in coming days, as per Cricket Australia Return to Play protocols, with further information on his status made available in due course.
