Afghanistan’s white-ball tour to Zimbabwe, which was postponed twice, has been rescheduled to June 2022. The series includes three ODIs and 5 T20I matches that will be held in the 2nd half of June in Harare.

The three-match ODI series will be part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, whereas the five T20Is will count towards the ICC Rankings as well as will be part of the preparation process for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 respectively.

The series was originally scheduled for December 2021 and then postponed to February 2022, but was postponed due to the inability of arranging the required broadcasting services by the host country.

Afghanistan Senior Men’s cricket team is currently attending a two-week long training and preparation camp in the United Arab Emirates under the supervision of the Pakistani Veteran Duo Younis Khan and Umar Gul who have been appointed as the batting and bowling consultants for the UAE tour respectively.

Afghanistan has played 9 matches at the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League so far, winning 7 and losing 2 matches to Bangladesh during the recently held Bangladesh tour where Afghanistan finished the three-match ODI series with a sole victory and loses in the remaining two games.

Given the busy next few months ahead, Afghanistan senior men’s team is scheduled to take on Pakistan, India, Australia and Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League games on home and away basis.
