As the curtain comes down on the 2021/2022 season the Sky Blues can look back on the campaign with a lot of pride on what they’ve achieved this season.

There was a lot of excitement at the very beginning of the season following the domestic restructuring and introduction of the 8-team division 1 and 7-team division 2 system by Cricket South Africa.

Along with these changes came the prospect of promotion and relegation between the two divisions; as well as a joint log standing across the three formats.

The Titans prosperous season is outlined by the team finishing top of the tree in all three formats in 2021/2022 thus topping the overall log in the CSA Promotion-Relegation standings. Totalling 35 points, the team from Centurion sits 12 points ahead of the team in second on the overall standings.

“This is a very big achievement for team and I’m pleased with how they were able to perform so well in the different formats and competitions.” Enthused Dr Jacques Faul, Titans Cricket CEO.

“The combined log standings offers the players and support staff a clear tool to measure their success and they should be proud of themselves and realise the magnitude of this achievement.”

The Titans have made great strides since Mandla Mashimbyi took over as head coach; and 2021/2022 encapsulated the progress made by the team.

Aside from the CSA T20 Knockout played in October 2021; The Titans have won 17 of the 24 matches played in all formats, with 2 draws and lost only 5 matches.

“It’s an outstanding record and a testimony to how the team has grown to become a force throughout the season. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved and wish the team more success in the new season”. Faul concluded.
