Monica Visser will be appointed as the new director of the Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) as of mid-July 2022.
Monica (1965) is an experienced federation director, who has led the renewal of the Royal Dutch Rowing Federation (KNRB) for more than nine years, which has led to growth and top performances. Before that she was director of Sportservice Flevoland for fifteen years. She succeeds interim director Richard de Winter.As director, Monica will lead the new course of the KNCB to grow the world sport of cricket in the Netherlands as well. In addition, the KNCB wants to take the next step with cricket as a top sport. This ambition has been expressed by the newly appointed new board. With the arrival of Monica, the KNCB is taking a new step towards innovation with an experienced candidate with a proven track record.
“Monica is a leader with a clear vision and who, together with the clubs, will realize innovation and thus bring cricket in the Netherlands to a higher level. With her competences and her experience, Monica is the right person for this place,” says Guido Landheer, chairman of the KNCB.Under her leadership, rowing grew by 33% to 40,000 members. She did this mainly by working on a good ‘branding’ of the sport and by actively investing in the relationship with the clubs through, among other things, network meetings. ”

By organizing World Cups in her own country and being an Olympic sport, Monica has also gained a lot of experience in the international sports world.
