Tess Flintoff has reaffirmed her commitment to the Stars, signing a two year deal to remain at the club until at least the end of WBBL|09.

The 19-year-old debuted for the Stars at the age of just 16 in WBBL|05 and has continued to develop her fast bowling over the past three seasons.

Flintoff has become one of the Stars most consistent players over the past 2 years, having taken the most wickets of anyone in Green in that time.

Earlier this year, Flintoff’s rise continued as she was named in the Australia A squad for the first time, performing well across the mixed format series against England A.

Flintoff said she can’t wait to get back in front of the Stars members and fans this season.

“After playing away from home for the last two years, I can’t wait to get back in front of family, friends and all the Stars fans. We’ve missed them and they’ll provide a huge boost for the team.

“I feel like we’ve got a great young group at the Stars along with some very talented senior players and I’m looking forward to meeting and working with our new head coach, Jonathan Batty, after his success in the Hundred last year.”

Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch was thrilled to see Flintoff extend her time with the Stars Family.

“Despite being one of the youngest in the squad, Tess shows maturity beyond her years and brings an energy and enthusiasm that we value highly at the Stars.

“I look forward to watching Tess continue to develop and it was great to see her rewarded earlier this year with selection in the Australia A squad.

“She’s a fan favourite of lots of young girls and boys and I’m thrilled that she, along with the rest of the squad will be able to get back among our fans and members for the first time in almost three years.”
