The Melbourne Renegades will launch the inaugural female edition of Renegades Recruit next Monday night.

Eleven female cricketers from all across Victoria will feature in the three-episode TV program, which will air* over three Monday nights, starting on July 4.

Both Premier and Community cricketers were encouraged to apply for the female program, which is aimed to uncover some of Victoria’s next-best talent.

Over the course of the first two episodes, the squad of 11 players will be whittled down to a final three – with a public vote to determine the winner for episode three.

The winner of the show will receive a unique opportunity to develop their cricket with the Renegades – which includes training opportunities with the WBBL program, attending a match-day with the squad and $1,000 cricket gear courtesy of Kookaburra.

“We’re really excited to launch the female version of Renegades Recruit this year,” Helmot said.

“It was great to spend some time working with this group of players and to be able to find out about who they are as people, their cricket journeys and why they want to be the Renegades Recruit.

“We saw some fantastic cricket talent on display throughout the filming process and hope that all the players walk away from the experience with some tips and skills to help them advance their cricket.

“At the end of the day though, there can only be one Renegades Recruit – and that player receive the incredible opportunity to develop their game alongside our WBBL squad. We hope plenty of people will tune into the program, cast their vote and help us make the tough selection call on who wins!”

On top of the individual prize for the winner, their cricket club will also benefit from their involvement – receiving $2,000 worth of Kookaburra gear, 100 tickets to a WBBL match, a club training session at the CitiPower Centre and a Renegades prize pack.
