Family friendly time slots and blockbuster MCG home games dominate the Melbourne Stars fixture in KFC BBL|12.

The Stars and the Sydney Thunder will bookend the season, featuring on opening night on Tuesday, 13th December at Manuka Oval in Canberra and closing the home and away fixture at the MCG on Wednesday, 25th January.

Stars fans will get to see their team 7 times in Melbourne with 6 home games at the MCG and 1 at the CitiPower Centre.

Two games at the MCG will feature a new family-friendly twilight start, with the Stars first home game against the Hobart Hurricanes set to begin at 5:05pm on Friday, 16th December and the clash against the Sydney Sixers to start at 6:30pm on Friday, 6th January.

Following the success of last year’s match at the home of Victorian cricket, the CitiPower Centre will host its second ever BBL match when the Stars host the Perth Scorchers two days before Christmas on Friday, 23rd December.

The always anticipated Melbourne Derby will be played at the MCG on Tuesday, 3rd January.

Fixture Highlights:
– 6 home games at the MCG
– 1 game at the CitiPower Centre
– 10 games live on Channel 7 and every game live on Foxtel/Kayo
– 2 family friendly twilight starts at the MCG

Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch said he was looking forward to seeing a sea of green return to the MCG.

“We’ve listened to our fans and members and we thank Cricket Australia in allowing us to start two of our home games at 5:05pm and 6:30pm at the MCG.

“During the festive season we hope to see as many families as possible at the MCG as well those who can attend after work.

“We’re also looking forward to getting back to the CitiPower Centre in December to build on the success of last year’s inaugural game at the venue.

“With the cancellation of the South Africa ODI series in Australia, Stars members and fans can look forward to seeing Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa throughout the entire BBL and we look forward to adding to the squad at the upcoming BBL Draft for overseas players.”
