- Permanent Full Time role in a Leading Sporting Organisation

Here’s the deal…
We’re looking for a driven senior sports administrator and strategic thinker to join our Big Bash team. Reporting to the General Manager, Big Bash Leagues you’ll be responsible for the ongoing improvement, development, and strategy of the WBBL and BBL Competitions – taking a League-wide and product-centric view.
This is an amazing opportunity to join a purpose driven organisation. Uniting and inspiring communities through Cricket is our culture, and we’ve never been prouder of the role our people play in making Cricket a sport for all Australians.
About the role
The Head of Competition Development and Strategy will lead a small, high performing team of experts across critical long-term competition pillars such as scheduling, competition format / structure, player contracting, broadcast optimisation and onfield product development and innovation. This role will require strategic and creative thinking, complex problem solving and negotiation and outstanding relationship management skills.
The management and development of the BBL and WBBL competitions will be a key focus area, partnering with key internal experts and external stakeholders to optimise the quality of the onfield product (think schedules, rules, players and conditions) to optimise fan, broadcast, cricket, and commercial outcomes while balancing with best practice governance to ensure competitive balance and competition integrity.
You will also take a direct hands-on leadership role in the future strategy of the WBBL competition to ensure it remains the biggest and best cricket competition in the world for women.
A complex stakeholder environment will include BBL Clubs, Broadcast partners, the Australian Cricketers Association (ACA), player agents and various internal experts.
About you
It’s pretty clear, our ideal candidate will bring demonstrable experience to this role. You’ll be leading the way on many fronts so previous experience in a leadership role in a complex stakeholder environment is preferred. If you’ve got significant contemporary experience in a professional League or Club environment – awesome!
We are looking for someone who prides themselves on building outstanding stakeholder relationships and is a well-seasoned, inspirational people leader – we’ve got a high performing and dedicated team for you to bring on the journey.
You will have proven commercial and negotiation skills, experience working with complex contracts and have demonstrable entrepreneurial and creative initiative – you won’t be afraid to present new ideas, in fact you’ll thrive off it!
Sound like you? Let’s do this!
