Ahead of The Hundred’s first match in 2022 next week, take a look at the new players joining the competition.
There are some new names you need to know for The Hundred this summer!
Due to circumstances including injury and international commitments, a small group of players have been either temporarily or permanently replaced for this year’s competition. Let’s dive into what’s changed.
BIRMINGHAM PHOENIX
Olly Stone has been ruled out of the competition due to injury. His replacement is yet to be confirmed.
LONDON SPIRIT
Josh Inglis will serve as a temporary replacement for Glenn Maxwell when he is away with Australia.
Nathan Ellis replaces Riley Meredith for the entire competition, with Meredith ruled out due to injury.
Toby Roland-Jones replaces Blake Cullen for the entire competition, with Cullen ruled out due to injury.
NORTHERN SUPERCHARGERS
Michael Pepper replaces Luke Wright for the entire competition. Wright has taken up a coaching role with New Zealand.
OVAL INVINCIBLES
Pat Brown replaces Gus Atkinson for the entire competition. Atkinson was a replacement for Saqib Mahmood, but both are out with injuries.
Sophia Smale replaces Emma Jones, who has been ruled out due to injury.
SOUTHERN BRAVE
Paul Stirling will serve as a temporary replacement for Marcus Stoinis when he is away with Australia.
James Fuller will be available for the opening match while Quinton de Kock is on international duty with South Africa.
TRENT ROCKETS
Tabraiz Shamsi will be a temporary replacement for Rashid Khan when he is away with Afghanistan.
