The Favell Dansie High Performance Indoor Centre at Adelaide Oval will play host to standout local cricketers in coming weeks, with the SACA Super Cricket Academy beginning a four-week training program on 23 August.

An initiative designed to provide development opportunities through expert coaching in an elite setting, players from within the SACA Super Cricket Competition and PASA Multicultural Cricket League will be welcomed to Adelaide Oval on Tuesday evenings between 23 August to 13 September.

Strengthening the links these competitions have with community and Premier Cricket, the program will identify, develop and encourage cricketing talent within South Australia.

Selected players will train in the presence of SACA support staff and former Australian Cricket Association players, with an All Star T20 match to be played later in the season.

SACA CEO, Charlie Hodgson is excited to see the local talent on show:

“There are so many passionate cricketers in South Australia who play all year round, such is their love for the game. It is fantastic to be able to have some of these players brought into our High Performance facility for coaching and development.

“I look forward to seeing the talent on display over the next month and seeing the continued development over the coming years as our elite pathways grow stronger.”

Match Managers and club captains have been providing feedback on player performance throughout the opening rounds of the current season, and SACA will also set up a selection committee to finalise the players selected for participation in the Cricket Academy.
