The Brisbane Heat have set out an ambitious goal of Sold-Out Stadiums as tickets for this summer’s KFC Big Bash League and Weber Women’s Big Bash League went on sale today.

Heat stars Marnus Labuschagne, Usman Khawaja, Jess Jonassen, Grace Harris, and Mitchell Swepson were joined by an exclusive group of members at the Wheel of Brisbane in South Bank today to launch this summer’s ticketing and membership campaign.

The Heat member group were treated to a meet and great and a trip around the wheel with one of the club’s stars, while also walking away with some merchandise to remember the day.

The morning also marked the announcement of Labuschagne commitment to the Heat on a one-year extension.

The club’s aspirational Sold-Out Stadiums mantra will include a push to return BBL attendance to pre-pandemic numbers, while selling out WBBL and BBL games across the state.

This summer’s BBL action is highlighted by the first men’s Heat game to be played outside of South East Queensland when the Heat host the Melbourne Renegades at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns. This is followed by five blockbusting games at the Gabba and one at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast.

The Gabba run of games includes the club’s inaugural January 1 marquee match – a date the club hopes to retain on the calendar for years to come, two Friday night games in December and January, plus a family-friendly Sunday afternoon timeslot to close out school holidays. Gold Coast fans and beach holiday makers will have the chance to take in the BBL festive season on December 29 as the Heat host Sydney Thunder at Metricon Stadium.

The club’s WBBL draw is equally attractive to fans with Mackay to host three Heat games to launch the season, while the recently renovated Allan Border Field will get its first taste of WBBL action in almost three years with three games to be hosted under lights.

Today’s ticketing launch also marks a win for families with the Heat retaining general admission level pricing at $22 for adults and $8 for kids, marking a $0 increase since the BBL launched in 2011, while also increasing entry level capacity at the Gabba by 53 per cent.

Ticket prices for WBBL games have also remained the same at $10 for adults and $5 for kids.

Heat CEO Terry Svenson said the club was building towards a big summer off the back of recent scheduling and player announcements.

“The last few WBBL and BBL seasons and schedules have been extremely challenging for fans to attend games due to the impacts of COVID, so we are excited to look ahead to a summer where the WBBL and BBL can take centre stage on the sporting calendar, and we can again pack out our stadiums.

“Both our squads are looking world class, and we’re excited to soon welcome new talent into our BBL team through the International Player Draft, so we’re confident we’ll be performing on the field to match the energy and entertainment off the field that comes with a Brisbane Heat home game.

“We’re pleased by our early membership numbers, and we’ve got great schedules that we think will entice fans and families back into our grounds from the Gold Coast up to Cairns.”

Today’s announcement also marked the launch of Heat memberships going on sale following a three-week renewal drive that saw over 1,000 members re-secure their seat for this summer’s Gabba action, marking an 80 percent year-on-year increase in renewals.

The Heat will offer fans the flexibility of five, two, and two game premium options, while new and furry fans can also show their support with the return of the Bub and Pet Club.
