- USA Over 60’s team begins their campaign this weekend in the first-ever Over 60′s Cricket World Cup at the Sunshine Coast in Australia
- 12 teams in total including sides representing Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and West Indies will play out to become the inaugural champions
USA Cricket would like to wish the Masters Cricket USA Over 60’s well in representing the United States of America at the inaugural Over 60’s Cricket World Cup. Veterans cricket is more popular than ever around the world and it provides older players with a social and physical outlet, as well as the chance to be a part of regional and international events like this one.
The inaugural Over 60’s Cricket World Cup will be staged on the renowned Queensland Sunshine Coast from 2 – 15 September 2022. It will feature 12 teams from some of the best cricketing nations in the World. The matches will take place across the coming two weeks with 8 match-days of action playing out on the Sunshine Coast’s renowned cricketing facilities to decide the inaugural Over 60’s World Champion.
17 players have been selected to represent their country in this first-ever World Cup for cricketers over the age of 60. Players and officials from 9 different states across America make up the touring party that could play up to 8 matches down under. USA Cricket believes it is fantastic to have a team representing the United States of America on a global stage down in Australia and USA Cricket would like to wish all of the players and everyone involved in the trip the very best of luck in the tournament.
