Ireland all-rounder Orla Prendergast has moved up 50 places to 96th position among batters in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings after cracking a fine half-century in the first match of a three-T20I series against Scotland.
Prendergast, who has played eight ODIs and 21 T20Is since her international debut three years ago, smashed 75 not out off 45 deliveries to be named Player of the Match as Ireland won by eight wickets. The 20-year-old, who bowls medium-pace, has also inched up one spot to 88th in the bowlers’ list.
Captain Laura Delany, who chipped in with 36 and partnered in an unbroken 99-run stand with Prendergast, has moved up one place to 52nd while Eimear Richardson has advanced four places to 68th among bowlers.
For Scotland, debutant Saskia Horley has entered the rankings in 70th position after scoring 52 off 42 deliveries coming in at number four. Off-spinner Katherine Fraser is up seven places to 36th among bowlers after grabbing both Ireland wickets to fall while leg-spinner Abtaha Maqsood (up six places to 66th) has also gained in the latest weekly update.
