Cricket Hong Kong is excited to announce the return of the Caravel Foundation Under 16 All Stars Series. The Under 16 All Star Series was originally planned to take place in April 2022 but was postponed due to the ground closures and uncertainty caused by Covid-19.

The Caravel All Stars Programme forms an integral part of the Cricket Hong Kong Youth Pathway Programme. It is the first step in the player identification and development process that supports the overall objective to develop a constant stream of local, representative, and international cricketers through an aligned and consistent skill development pathway.

The Caravel Foundation All Stars Programme was originally launched in 2021 to form a key component of Cricket Hong Kong’s youth performance pathway, focused on the development of local, representative, and international cricketers through an aligned and consistent skill development pathway.

Following a series of trials and assessments three All Stars teams have been selected, Hong Kong Islanders, Kowloon Lions and New Territories Tigers. These teams will compete in the Caravel Foundation Under 16 All Stars Tournament. The round robin phase will take place on Saturday 10th and Monday 12th September the final being played on Saturday 17th September. All games will be played at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.

All games will be streamed live through Cricket Hong Kong’s Facebook and YouTube sites.

Cricket Hong Kong General Manager, Mark Farmer had this to say: “We are very excited to be able to restart the Caravel Foundation All Stars Programme. The programme is an integral part of our representative player pathway and forms the start of our talent identification, player development and player tracking process. We have a great group of skilled players coming through at this age group and we’re excited to see the three teams compete against each other in a competitive, tournament setting.”

Angad Banga from the Caravel Foundation had this to say: “It has been a challenging two years for young people with so much disruption, particularly to the sport. We are delighted to see the All Stars programme return to the cricketing calendar. We are proud to be part of a programme that creates accessible opportunities and experiences for Hong Kong’s emerging cricket talent to be identified and developed. We wish all the players every success in the tournament.”

The Caravel Foundation All Stars Programme will run annually at the Under 13 and Under 16 age groups. The next in-take for trials and assessments will be in early 2023 which will lead to the U13 and U16 All Stars Tournaments which are expected to be held in Easter 2023.
