ECB announces team to represent UAE at upcoming inaugural ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup

The Emirates Cricket Board is the governing body for cricket in the United Arab Emirates. An Associate Member of the International Cricket Council since 1990, it represents the UAE at the ICC and is also a member of the Asian Cricket Council.

Emirates Cricket Board has confirmed the team that will represent the UAE at the upcoming inaugural Asian Cricket Council Women’s T20 Asia Cup.

To be played in Bangladesh, the history-making series commences on October 1st and will be played through to October 15th. UAE will compete in a round-robin format against Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and hosts Bangladesh.

Andrew Russell, Emirates Cricket National Development Manager said; “This is a historic moment for our UAE Cricket Women. Playing in the first-ever Women’s Asia Cup is a great honour and one we are confident our ladies will take great pride in. We wish them a rewarding series.”

Robin Singh, Emirates Cricket’s Director of Cricket said; “This opening edition of the (Women’s) Asia Cup fields a line-up of impressive talent from the world of Women’s Cricket. Over the past number of tournaments our ladies have been challenged, which they have embraced with confidence and shown a remarkable maturity to learn.” “This will be an incredible opportunity for them as they continue on their, and UAE Cricket Women’s journey.”

The team that will represent the UAE in the Asia Qualifier is;

Chaya Mughal (C), Esha Oza, Kavisha Egodage, Khushi Sharma, Theertha Satish, Lavanya Keny, Priyanjali Jain, Suraksha Kotte, Natasha Cherriath, Indhuja Nandakumar, Rishitha Rajith, Vaishnave Mahesh, Siya Gokhale, Samaira Dharnidharka, Mahika Gaur.

UAE’s schedule is;

Sunday, October 2nd 13:30 v Sri Lanka

Tuesday, October 4th 13:30 v India

Wednesday, October 5th 13:30 v Malaysia

Friday, October 7th 09:00 v Thailand

Sunday, October 9th 13:30 v Pakistan

Tuesday, October 11th 09:00 v Bangladesh
