Last year’s Adelaide Strikers WBBL Most Valuable Player Katie Mack has re-signed with the Strikers for two more years.

In WBBL|07, Mack was second on the runs tally for the entire league, highlighted by a red hot blade sending countless deliveries to the boundary while opening the batting.

Amassing 513 runs at an amazing average of 64.12 at the top of the order, Mack’s consistent contributions helped the Strikers earn a ticket to the Grand Final.

Currently captaining the ACT Meteors in the Women’s National Cricket League, Mack will join the Strikers squad next week ahead of WBBL|08.

Mack can’t wait to re-join the Strikers squad ahead of the team camp and first game in Mackay.

“I’m excited to continue on with Strikers for at least another two years, we had so much fun and success last year and we are looking forward to building on that this season,” Mack said.

“I’m really looking forward to reuniting with my teammates and hopefully we can go one better this year.”

Adelaide Strikers Head Coach Luke Williams said Mack is an integral part of the Strikers side.

“Having Katie as a steadying figure at the top of the order last year was so important for us and she consistently delivered runs at the beginning of the innings,” Williams said.

“We are pleased to be welcoming her back again for the next two seasons and can’t wait to see what she contributes.”

The Strikers begin their Weber WBBL|08 campaign against the Sydney Sixers in Mackay on October 15.
