The Momentum Multiply Titans are prepared for their next challenge in the 4 Day Series against the Itec Knights.

A drawn match against the Six Gun Grill Western Province in the competition opener was a less than ideal start for the defending champions. This time however the Sky Blues have had more time to prepare for the match against the Itec Knights.

Rain had the final say in the match against Western Province and influenced the Titans preparation for the encounter.

“Training’s been good. Last week obviously wasn’t ideal with all the rain so it’s nice to get outside and have training in the grass nets. The boys are raring to go after sitting on the side for 3 days. Explained spinner, Simon Harmer.

While the Titans side will be bolstered with the availability of players who were on national duty, they are fully aware of the threat the visitors can pose and will not underestimate the team from Bloemfontein.

One those making a return are pace bowler, Lizaad Williams. Over the past couple of seasons, Williams has been a key figure for the Titans in first class cricket and a return to the Sky Blues pace attack will be welcome.

“I’m obviously excited to be back! Excited to be playing again and hopefully I can contribute to the team. I’m looking forward to the upcoming game and I’m really happy to be back. 4 day cricket is a very enjoyable format, It’s a hard toil but very rewarding.” Lizaad Williams said with a smile.

“Looking at the position of the Knights they will be very hungry and will come guns blazing to try climb up the promotion/relegation table. We expect them to bring a good fight and they’ll play every game like it’s their last so I’m sure it’ll be a good game.” Said Williams.

The advantage that the Titans have at the start of this 4 day campaign is that their first two games are at home at SuperSport Park after spending 3 weeks in the North West Province for the T20 Challenge.

“It’s nice to be in Gauteng for our first three 4 day games, 2 at home and then the third at the Wanderers. We all enjoy playing at SuperSport Park and it’s been good to spend some time at home after a few weeks in Potch and Klerksdorp.” Harmer said in closing.
