Bio

Jeff Latch is currently the Head of Spark Sport at Spark New Zealand, a role he has held since June 2018. In this role he is responsible for managing the financial and operational performance of Spark’ stand-alone Sports Streaming business. Spark New Zealand provides telecommunications and digital services in New Zealand.

Latch has extensive background in Television and Digital Media. He held senior roles at TVNZ, New Zealand’s state-owned, commercially funded broadcaster, including as TVNZ’s Director of Content from June 2014 to June 2017. He led the development and implementation of TVNZ’s multi-Platform content strategy to optimize the financial performance of all TVNZ linear, pay and on-line channels and platforms.

Latch negotiated all content acquisition contracts with major US studios including Disney, Warner Bros, Fox, NBC and CBS and sports rights owners including the FIFA, NFL, NBA, AFL and NRL. He also negotiated content acquisition contracts for the BBC, ITV/Granada. During his time as the Head of Content at TVNZ, he was the director at Freeview New Zealand from 2014 to 2016.

Prior to Latch’s stint as the Head of TV ONE and TV 2 at TVNZ from 2007 to June 2014, he served as the Chief Executive at Sports Inc, a local NZ production company, from 2004 to Nov 2007.

Latch is a graduate of University of Auckland, having done a BA/BCom in Marketing and Politics in 1983.
