The Adelaide Strikers have finalised their KFC BBL|12 playing squad, with bowling all-rounder Ben Manenti added to the list.
Manenti joins the Strikers from the Sydney Sixers where he played 21 matches and took 16 wickets.
The off-spinning allrounder is a familiar face to South Australian cricket fans however, having made his West End Redbacks Sheffield Shield and One-Day Cup debuts earlier this season with great success.
Manenti has been an inspired addition to the Redbacks, having impressed with bat and ball in both the long and short formats.
He scored a half-century on SA debut in both the One-Day Cup and the Shield and was player-of-the-match in his One-Day Cup debut against Queensland, also taking two key wickets.
In a Shield match against Western Australia in November, he earned his maiden first class five-wicket haul.
Manenti said he is looking forward to returning to the Big Bash, this time in blue.
“I’ve really enjoying being part of the Redbacks set up and I am now looking forward to joining the Strikers camp with some of the same teammates and staff, but also some new faces,” Manenti said.
“I love being part of the Big Bash, so I’m excited for my first season at the Strikers and to play in front of the amazing Adelaide Oval fans.”
Adelaide Strikers Head Coach Jason Gillespie said Manenti is a perfect addition to the playing squad.
“We have loved having Ben around the Redbacks group and am so pleased to have added him to our Strikers squad too,” Gillespie said.
“He has brought a lot to South Australian cricket, not only with both his batting and bowling contributions, but also with his positive and competitive energy.
“We can’t wait to see what he achieves in blue this season.”
The Adelaide Strikers BBL|12 season will get underway at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday, December 14 and tickets are on sale now.
