Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

The 2022/23 Season will see the full Cricket South Africa (CSA) national weeks return to normal after COVID-19 disruptions in the past two years.

The University Sports South Africa (USSA) Cricket week kicked off in Pretoria on Monday, with 25 teams from Universities across the country participating in the tournament.

This will be followed by the Boys U16 Week from 11-14 December in Johannesburg and the Girls U16 Week from 12-15 December in East London.

The Girls U19 Week will be held in Bloemfontein from 13-16 December and the CSA Khaya Majola Week will commence from 15-18 December in Stellenbosch.

Niels Momberg, Youth & Tertiary Cricket Manager, commented on the importance of CSA Youth Weeks as they serve as a breeding ground for talent in the country.

“After massive disruptions due to the COVID pandemic, Youth and Tertiary cricket are back in full swing and not a minute too late,” commented Momberg.

“The Annual Youth and USSA tournaments play a vital and irreplaceable part in the CSA pipeline.

“The USSA A and B Tournaments are underway at the University of Pretoria, culminating in the finals and other play-off matches on Friday.

“The first of the National Youth Tournaments commences on Sunday, 11 December in Gauteng, hosted by Lions Cricket while the rest will follow across the country.

“We expect high-quality cricket and top-class levels of organisational excellence in all tournaments,” Momberg concluded.

All fixtures are attached, and matches will be available on PitchVision.

USSA Week matches can be streamed live from the CSA YouTube page.
