The Hollywoodbets Dolphins welcome back seamer Ottniel Baartman for their CSA One Day Cup clash with the North West Dragons in Potcheftroom on Sunday.
Baartman was sidelined following a shoulder injury against the Gbets Warriors in the CSA 4-Day Domestic Series and has recovered enough to slot back into the Dolphins side for a crucial white ball clash with the Dragons.
The Dolphins relied heavily on the seamer in the recent CSA T20 Challenge and last season he finished the CSA One Day Cup as the Dolphins leading wicket taker which highlights his importance in the side.
The Dolphins have a win and a loss on their record so far this campaign while the Dragons have won both of their matches this season.
“We know that it’s going to be another big game for us in a competition where the games come thick and fast,” coach Imraan Khan said.
“We’ve had a bit of a break this week, but we will have games in quick succession from this weekend and it’s going to be important that we are positive.”
Brad Porteous became the star of the Dolphins side when he made an impressive hundred batting at seven against Six Gun Grill Western Province last week. Khan hopes that that performance can inspire the squad.
“A youngster like Brad coming in and showing that he has what it takes is big for us and we are looking to build on that performance.
“We know that North West are a very good white ball side but making sure that we execute our skills well is vital and we’ve focused on our plans.
“Making sure that we are on top of our game going into a busy period is important and the boys are excited to get going again,” Khan added.
There is just one change to the Dolphins side with Baartman coming in for Thando Ntini.
